Irish family of 6 offsite and first Orlando holiday

Day 2
Today was an extremely early wake up at about 4am and our plan was to do the morning in volcano bay get there for opening and get out when it was too hot maybe 1ish .
This in theory was great until I was still trying to organise 6 of us to be out the door and still only left at 8.15.actually had a meltdown as dp was on on his phone face timing his sis showing her round the villa and I was left making rolls for the 6 of us and plastering the two smallies in sun cream and screaming at the older two to do their own ...
So the planned Denny’s breakfast went out the window as I was worried that the park might be really busy and would be at capacity really early so we ended up with take out McDonald’s brekkie items for 6..two smallies had 3 pancakes each with drinks and the four of us had sausage /egg McMuffins and coffee/drinks.filled a hole and was quick .$24.50 .
Actually raging that after all my reading and researching and swearing that we wouldn’t be going anywhere we had at home we still ended up at McDonald’s.
Brilliant time at volcano bay ..did loads of rides and the tapu tapu system is great.we actually didn’t buy anything in the park as we had rolls and snacks and bottles of frozen water with us.(bought a case with 40 500ml bottles in Walmart for $3.95)..
So after the park we got back to the villa about 2.15 and lazed about for a bit and did plenty of grazing myself mainly on Cheetos ..now I discovered these delicacies 20 odd years ago when I spent a few years over here working..I easily consumed my own body weight in Cheetos and looks like I might be set to do that again .
We headed off to Oldtown in Kissimmee for the evening as dp and eldest ds are obsessed with cars and it was classic car night .they had an overload of testosterone for a few hours and we had a ramble round all the little shops and passed a nice few hours .we had some of those 99c glass Pepsi bottles from the general store and they were really refreshing.
went over to fun spot America with the rides and yet more testosterone was released by the boys on the karting track .smallies had a few shots on some rides and kids had some of those dippin dots ice creams in various flavors.i had a taste of dds and it was birthday cake flavour ..bit sweet for me but they loved them .(kids all have their own spending money which they saved over the year and I let them do what they like with it ..they earned it from pocket money so it’s theirs to use as they please so ice creams and junk comes out of that too.)
So here’s where my sense went out the window and dp persuaded me to get on the sky coaster with him !
If you haven’t seen this u basically get strapped in to some sort of bungee contraption thing and dragged 300 m up in the air and dropped ...the view was amazing ..I thought I was going to die .ive no more to say about this other than I won’t ever volunteer myself again for it 🤣
We headed off then about 7 as kids were exhausted and hungry again .now here I go failing massively again as I left the phone in the car when we went to Steak ‘n Shake for food .this place was the one one just off Vineland ave I think .it was busy but they seated us quickly.eveyone had various burgers and fries and milkshakes .these were amazing ! i only ate half my burger as my stomach wasn’t great after the bungee swing thing 😓dp finished it anyway no probs .omg the size of the milkshakes and so creamy .we will def be back here for sure .the bill for all 6 of us was $41 .i had a coupon for a free double cheese steak burger and fries which came off at the end and also the 2 smallies are free as it was Saturday.seriously cheap and so good .oh the milkshake flavors we had were 2 m and ms 1 very berry strawberry (yum )1 chocolate and 1 butterfinger .burgers were so juicy .everyone happy with this and hopefully we will get there again .
Now I’m sorry I failed miserably with the photos as I left the phone in the car but will really try and do better and I promise to eat somewhere better than McDonald’s 😉
Got back to villa about 9 and decided to make rolls and leave in fridge for the lunches in park the next day .

Ah Roisin I'm so glad I came across your post this morning! We are from Kildare and travelling same route as u this day 4 weeks! We r going Gat to Orl with BA thou. Great to follow your report. Don't worry about waffling on that's the best bit for us addicts. Hope you all have a ball. Takes a couple of days to settle after that journey and remember it is a holiday too so make the most of that pool and chilling out! Am off to take the washing in off the line as it's starting to lash! Enjoy every second!

Fab report so far Roisin-how brave(mad? ) are you doing the bungee jump! lol! There are 6 of us going to a villa (Belfast to McCoy), so will be glued to your report every day! Hope you have a great time

Following with interest. We discovered Chick-fil-A at the end of our last holiday and are looking forward to going back. Also have Steak ‘n Shake on our list to try- sounds great 👍

We never got to Steak and Shake before on previous trips but the girls are mad to try the shakes so well up our list. they are also mad to go back to Buffalo wild wings
