Many years ago when my kids were small on our last day we went to the main street barbers and kids got glitter mickey heads (this was before it was a trend)
Then we park hopped to Ak as lion king was their thing of choice before leaving...
Well tge CMs were fascinated as they d never seen before.
We got VIP seats and kids got to do all the musical bits and dd "opened " the show.
I hid... like literally died lmao...

Bizarrely I’ve been “that guy” in the Laugh Floor for all of our trips apart from 1. Not sure why they single me out but I didn’t mind and the kids found it hilarious.

If you don’t want to be included I’m sure you could mention to a CM.

My dh was picked for Laugh Floor as were both my friends dh when they went separately. I wonder if they go for a type as they all are in their 40s with very short/ shaved hair (balding !)

My dh was also picked for a show/ride thing at Universal on our first trip where he had to get dressed up and pretend he was falling off the building or something - the kids were mortified!

I would hate to be picked out and dread anything where they pick people at random!

wow I am so glad it's not just me! Sounds like there's a whole bunch of us attending these things. My husband got picked as Randal too but he doesn't really mind. I had no idea what laugh floor was when we went but as soon as I clocked on to what was happening I popped my 6 year old on my knee and hid behind her! I really enjoyed it but not the thought of being picked - I think I will speak to a cm (and not go in if there isn't an opt out option) and will mention it to our server at Hoop de Doo. I don't know why I put myself through these things but I do enjoy it for the most part! I will let you all know after our trip (not until Easter but i'm worrying already!) and hopefully I will have some handy hints for anyone who wants to dodge the limelight. x

Hiding behind your 6 year old on your lap is probably like asking to get your face on the screen 😊 they seek people out.

Just sit out the way on the ends or the back, don’t wear anything that makes you stand out and I’m sure you’ll be fine 😊 .

I've been picked 3 or 4 times in MILF (I'm almost at the stage now where I expect to be picked). And, yes, I was mortified and felt like an idiot.

Still, it's over now and I can laugh about it. It's the reason why my avatar is Mike Wazowski - to remind me of the humiliation.

I've done other humiliating things at Disney; for example, occasionally I've been known to wear a bright yellow poncho.

I was picked in Lanzarote at a ranch place , I had to go up put a cowboy hat on and try lassoing - I did my best to get out of it but he wasn't taking no for an answer and then my kids pushed me up . It has made me very wary of places like that now, my youngest was four and got picked at Monsters Inc, he was sat next to his brother who was trying to whisper what he should say ! My youngest took exception to it , told him to shut up so everyone heard and punched him it did make people laugh which I suppose is what they want

Once in Hollywood Studios we were watching the street entertainers and they asked me to join in and then to sing. Fortunately for me, and everyone within earshot, I convinced them it would not be a good idea. I'm sure they can tell when someone isn't keen!

I went to the Blue Man group in Vegas, unaware that there would be any crowd participation...
Thankfully as luck would have it I was sitting next to an American girl who before the show started said she couldnt take the smell of my popcorn any longer and stood up to go buy some just as the lights went out so she sat back down and I left her have a handful of mine.
Crowd participation began and the guy made a direct line to me and gestured for me to go on stage, i looked at the girl next to me and sensing my fear she took my place without words needing to be said.
It always pays to be nice to the people sitting next to you! They made her eat a twinkie so thankgod i didnt go up cos I hate em.

The thought of participating in such things would fill me with horror. When in the past, either mine or my wife's birthdays have fallen during vacation, we have not even told anyone in restaurants. The thought of the happy clapping, sparklers and chanting would give both of us nightmares.
it is simply not for everyone.
