Virgin from Glasgow v BA from Edinburgh
We have only ever flown with BA but now that we have to travel to Edinburgh and stay overnight for the early flight to Gatwick we are looking at other options for next May.
I have just looked at Virgin from Glasgow, can't get exact dates yet but the week before it is £805 in Premium. Is that price good I have no idea about Virgin or Premium? BA Premium economy same dates are £1165. How does BA's premium economy compare to Virgins Premium? Thanks

Unsure when you are going but that looks a good price to me
Flying direct with virgin would be the deciding factor for me

Anything around £800 is good for PE from Glasgow. I’ve never done BA PE but Virgin is great and I prefer to go direct so I’d snap up that price.

there seems to be other flights from Edinburgh that go in to Newark and then down to MCO. (swiss and Virgin seem to offer these) . Having done the Edin- Gatwick-MCO its not great a much longer day and you almost feel like the first leg is going the wrong way and add timeonto the already longer transatlantic flight. Would need to be much cheaper to be worth even thinking about.
At the moment they are around £700 which is the same for us as the direct flights from Glasgow for our late April into May holiday next year so will be holding firm. I'd love £550PP for direct classic from Glasgow but that might be a pipe dream, got virgin direct from GLA for £400 last year and I know I wont get that again. |

£800 is a good price for Premium, pricing Virgin this year we would be £700 for "cattle class" & that's a Delta flight changing in Man & not direct, BA were £400 from Glasgow! We've paid £1000 for WT+ (Premium) so your BA price is about right.

If it’s £800 pp direct from Glasgow vs £1100 pp EDI-LGW-MCO with BA, sounds like a no-brainier unless GLA is inconvenient.
BA WT+ sometimes gets a bad press on this forum, I think it’s better than some make out, but would be hard to argue it’s overall a better product than Virgin PE, so if Virgin direct is cheaper, easy decision (for me). |
