I don't know where you're flying into. I assume that hiring through Virgin you can still be flying into SFB. But let's assume you're flying into MCO and then, depending on where you're staying, you can leave mainly via two options. 528 north or 417 south.


Just in case you choose 417 south (as we do ) this is the first toll you'll see. If you choose to pay cash as Tom says keep right.

You'll need quarters as most of the on/off ramps are unmanned. This one at j2 of 417 needs a dollar

We're using Avis through BA, looks like they do the same as Alamo as outlined by Mr T, so I presume we do the same? Either pay cash and avoid automatic pay plazas for the whole holiday, or just drive through the Sunpass lane and accept the admin fees for the whole holiday? No need to do anything different when picking the car up?

Correct. Alamo and Avis are all but identical with the only difference being Alamo use the term usage day and Avis rental day.

Hertz no longer has a maximum cap so the daily admin charges keep rising if the cashless lanes are constantly used.

Also have BA booking with Avis flying into MCO and back via Tampa so probs only the airport to Kissimmee will have a toll.

Might be a daft question who actually charges you the admin fee? Is it Avis via the credit card used?

Yes it will be who ever you rent with, so in your case then it will be Avis. Basically they pay the tolls and charge you at a later date with the fee for the privilege of doing so.
