Mobile Alamo debut card help

Hi
I hired a car with Alamo to pick up from Miami airport last week and returning to Disney car care centre . I paid for one day. When I got to the airport they advised me that they needed to take off 600 pounds off my debit card as a hold. I was advised by Alamo that nothing would be taken before hand. The money took six days to return to my account. They advised that as I had a ticket returning on the 18th they needed to charge me till that date
I need to hire another car to get back to Miami again already paid
Has anyone had same issue or as my return ticket is for the day I collect should there be no hold. Worries as running out of money
Any help please
Thanks

Are you prepaying for your car rental through a UK broker as the hold should be $1... or are you just walking in and booking a vehicle there and then, in which case, there will be a large hold.
