I am sorry you had such a poor meal, but this post did make me smile!

Once bitten eh?

It used to taste so much better, my first Five Guys was in London in 2013 and it was amazing, now I'm always disappointed

people need to set their expectations correctly.

five guys in the US is great when you compare it to the likes of mcdonalds. its only a bit more expensive, but the quality is so much better. but its still just a burger.

in the UK, five guys is priced at restaurant levels (so much so, our local independent burger joint is cheaper!)... its a novelty, and again should only really be compared to the likes of McD's and BK. its good for the occasional QUICK meal, but i wouldnt eat there regularly.

they are good burgers. but if you go in expecting something *amazing* or magical, youll definitely come out disappointed.
I ate at 5 guys before I'd heard about it on hear so I had no expectations. It's doesn't compare to even Macdonald's as far as I'm concerned and I'm not a huge fan of them.

i disagree... i *always* regret having a mcdonalds burger/meal. the only good thing they sell is the mcmuffins, whereas i've never had a bad 5 guys burger...

I agree with Wayne here. 5 Guys is not some 5 star burger restaurant but it sure beats McD's. That is pure garbage! Atleast 5 Guys cooks to order and you see it being made.
Are they the best burger place? Nope! But they are far from the worst.
Red Robin has fab burgers and one of our favs to visit when there.

Our DS2 was raving about Five Guys last year and really wanted to go while were in Orlando.

We went to one in the outlets and yes it was nice but I wouldn't say it was amazing, DH liked it and then we went to the one in The Trafford centre Manchester with DD and DSIL and he loved it too.

I suppose it's just a matter of personal taste

I do like 5 guys but the one here is mega expensive for what you get. We will try one in Orlando this year, although our sons have us tortured for Wendy's burgers when we are in Orlando. They just love them.
Must be the name

I hate burgers but I do like their BLT. OH and DS like it there but it's just a fast food place after all. It's alright
