Premier inn meal deals are great value IMO, but nearby there is also The Airport pub, this is a Robinsons pub with a massive outside viewing area overlooking the runway. It has play stuff for kids, outside bar and covered seating. The food is lovely but a bit pricey and the queues at the bar can take a while. Another place about a mile from the Airport is a Hungry Horse, cheap, cheerful and loads of space. Also planes flying over head to amuse the kids.

Thanks everyone. Can you pay for just the evening meal? Think it was £50 for dinner and breakfast but hubby didn't want breakfast - we aren't big breakfast people really do I'll just take some for kids for morning and we will grab a snack. Thanks for the other suggestions too, looking at planes sounds ace!

We have used the Romper pub many times, and will be in there next week.
It's about a 5 minute walk across the road from PI North and South (they are across the car park from each other)
I use my Tesco clubcard points , as for every £5 you get £20 in vouchers , so I usually only end up spending a couple of pounds for our evening meal.

Have a look at their menu online , see if it's what you are looking for

I'd be interested to know this. We are staying at the PI but won't be staying for breakfast and therefore don't want a meal deal. Can we just have the evening meal? That's what we've always done in the past.

Thank you

We stayed there last month, we didn't get the meal deal and just paid for dinner. We found it quite reasonable, and it was really tasty. Just normal pub-type prices.

That's brilliant! I'll go check my Tesco vouchers! That sounds ideal location. Thank you

That's great to know that you can just go for dinner. You can clearly tell I don't regularly stay before we fly! I'll go google menu but if it's pretty standard prices that'll do I think if we have no Tesco vouchers for that nearby pub. Mind you, food then fall into bed no doubt after a stressful packing and travelling day sounds appealing!

Thank you Jo. We like the food at the PI however if we manage to arrive early enough (and it's not raining), we may take a wonder down to The Romper.

Not sure when you leave OP but if you sign up to the Chef and Brewer mailing list they are currently offering 40% off on select days over the Bank Holiday - may be of some use :-) Have a fantastic holiday!

Just noticed you go September - Sorry... but may be worth signing up anyway!
