Florida Masters - Beyond Angry!

Nipped onto my booking tonight just to check all was okay with our booking with just 60 days to go...

Tried our reference number, log in failed, thought to myself hmm that's a bit wierd, tried again, same response so got in touch with VA & asked if there system was down & they said no all is okay, so explained what had been happening...

The reference number I've been using is an OLD one... unknown to me, so Virgin gave me a new one, logged in my seats in the bubble gone, as you can imagine my heart sank, anger starting to kick in.

Onto the phone I go, spoke to a lovely girl who informed me that on the 31st July that Florida Masters had cancelled my original booking & re booked us onto the flight with a new reference number this is all unknown to me, I've had these seats in the bubble booked since last November, we did a big Christmas for our daughters, Disney themed & told them how we're booked on VA & we get to go upstairs in the bubble & now I get to tell them it's not happening... I've explained to Florida Masters on so many occasions how special this holiday is to us, this February I celebrated 25 years since my kidney transplant so what better way to celebrate!

We've paid everything up in full including everything owed to Florida Masters & they go & do this to us, how & why should they be able to get away with it? !

Any advice on the next steps to be taken by fellow dibbers would be of huge help as I'll be on the phone 1st thing in the morning... & boy I hope they are ready for me!

Do you think the loss of bubble seats is anything to do with the mix up with the refund you mentoned previously? Have they stil seated you together? The bubble is nice but I wouldn't let it ruin my holiday plans. You need to be clear in your head what you want from them before you phone. It's unlikely they will move others to give you the seats back. When Virgin cancelled our flight last year, we checked what flight we wanted to be moved to and got them to give us exit row seats as compensation. Ranting at them is unlikely to get you what you want.

This has nothing to do with VA, Its Florida Masters that have cancelled the flight & re booked us on again, they cancelled the original booking on 31st July, hence the new reference number.

It’s sounds as though an error has been made but before phoning be realistic in your mind what you want the outcome to be. The Bubble is pleasant don’t get me wrong but 9 hours is a minuscule amount of your magical holiday and I’m sure your children are more excited by the holiday when they get there than a seat on the plane.

Although its Florida Masters who have made this change, keep in mind you're not guaranteed certain seats on the plane even if prebooked.

I do agree with what people are saying totally & now I've had chance to calm down & just read what folk are saying.

I will still be ringing & complaining as I think it's wrong that they can cancel a flight & not tell you about a new reference number.

Yup, can be for a variety of 'operational reasons' (usually the airline though).
