Mobile Mde- probably really stupid question.

To add my ticket number to me, do I scratch off the panel at the bottom of the card or am I going to invalidate my card by doing this? Is there somewhere else I get the 12 digit code from?

I can't help you as I've always stayed on site and never had a card to scratch! Can you call whoever you booked it with to check?

No scratching required. I just used my phone, it captured and linked our tickets. Took me less than two minutes to link five tickets.

Yes, you are supposed to remove the silver panel.

It’s there to stop other people from using the ticket number before you get the ticket. If the silver panel has been removed, you know the ticket has been tampered with.

Our tickets are linked to our MDE account. The tickets can’t be linked to anyone else even though I’ve not removed the silver panel. Why else would I have been able to link through my phone.

ok. it depends on what type of ticket they've been issued. if you used a q reader it does it all, but that doesnt work on all tickets, esp those issued by ATD

they cant link the tickets without scratching the silver off and being able to see the last 4 numbers to enter manually onto mde

I don’t usually but this time bought from ATD. Only because we needed fast delivery. The barcode linked, through my phone to MDE.

The silver panel existed before the ability to link via the app without removing the panel.

Originally, it was there to show whether the ticket had been tampered with. If the panel was removed there was a chance that the ticket had been used or linked previously. Yes, nowadays there are other ways to link and use the tickets without touching the silver panel.

Anyway, the point is, if the OP wants to enter the ticket code on Disney's website to link the tickets then they need to scratch off the silver panel, as shown on Disney's link page:

(interestingly, the above image doesn't show a barcode or QR code like some other tickets have)
