MCO to Pointe Orlando avoiding Tolls

Hi,

Leaving MCO takes you on the the 528 West towards I-Drive, but this is a toll road. Is there a way to get from MCO avoiding tolls from MCO to Pointe Orlando?

Yes there is our friends sat nav was on avoid tolls when they left mco and they hadn’t realised however it took them a good 15 minutes longer to get to idrive than us so for $2.50 I think I’d rather pay the toll it’s really simple and the booth is manned so you can get change.

Run a route planner on google and just select avoid toll.

I know how to do it but it's a right royal pain. Not for me. Some years ago you could dive down onto Sandlake Rd and drift up that way. But when they altered the toll booths from 2 down to 1 they installed an additional one on the Sandlake Rd off ramp.

For the sake of $2.50 why avoid using the road? Though if you will be using that road lots then I can understand the frustration but for couple trips I’d just pay

It's not the $2.50 in tolls, it's the $3.95 additional a day on top of that with Toll by Plate. Something in me doesn't like paying $6.50 to drive 13 miles !

Like I suggested earlier just pay cash. No admin fee on cash.

I always use this road and pay the toll in cash. Darned if I'm paying an admin fee.

This is on 417 from MCO and I'm sure the one on 528 will be similar.

Big sign - pay toll cash lanes.

Ok, that's cool then. I wasn't sure if pay by plate would recognise when I'd paid cash or not.
