We are going there today. I can't wait, but Grandma and youngest son did not enjoy Soarin, they found the height sensation too much. Should they skip Flight of Passage?

Probably, but it is actually a very different sensation. Soarin is gentle gliding, FoP is much more action packed with twists, turns and drops and you are generally much closer to the ground.

It is far more intense and there are moments when it feels like you are swooping around obstacles at speed. You aren't dangling in space but the restraints can be a bit claustrophobic instead.

I would guess that anyone who finds Soarn too much wouldn't like it.

I'm scared of heights and found Soarin more uncomfortable because you can feel how high you've been lifted up and can look down. I absolutely loved FOP, I felt more secure in my seat and because I wasn't actually lifted up, I preferred it.

Interestingly, I was the opposite. As you mentioned I was scared of actually being lifted up. I guess it's different depending on if you're scared of actually being higher off the ground or the sensation of being up high. I'd agree that the on screen movements are more intense on FOP, so I guess it's worth speaking to them to find out what they didn't like OP?

Thanks for replies. They decided to skip it, but wow wow wow agree with you op, the rest of us were blown away! Shame they didn't experience it but I think the part you board your seats etc would have been enough to make them want to leave...the anticipation was quite intense.

Couldn't understand the hype of this ride, till i went on it - simply fantastic.

Didnt have a fastpass for it, tried to queue early at AK but got delayed getting to park - Na'vi river was a walk on at 08:30, and had to try the 10:37 FP trick - low and behold it worked a treat 12:05 slot same day.

Top of my list of must do rides now.
