Note the “in my experience” comment.

To be fair I think many of our American cousins do as much research as we do, those that don't potentially have enough disposable income for it not to worry them. I think they probably spend inordinate amounts going to Disney with no research so it seems like a good deal on face value, just as many Brits do so little research and spend inordinate amounts on that once in a lifetime trip thinking Disneyland is in Florida and is one park.
I think because we factor in transatlantic flights and how often we visit we are more likely to do more research before making what is in effect and overseas investment.
I have made many US friends on FB and on cruises and the ones who I know own DVC are very clued up and have done research.
With so many US folks who drive long distances and have access to cheap inter US flights I think it appears good value. They are also on shorter trips so probably don't want to spend a few hours at the DVC tour and proper rep talk. I also am hearing more and more that the sales guys are not as detailed and laid back as when we bought, and that was not that long ago.
In saying that I am also in those FB groups and because they are larger by law of averages you do see many statements that make your jaw drop, just probably more noticeable because they are so much larger.

The UK DVCer is such a rare breed, that based on numbers alone, you will get most daft comments coming from US Citizens as they own 95% of DVC.

I thought the comment was uncalled for too😳
They are smart enough to design and build the Amazing resorts and lovely hotels that we all enjoy so much👏👍😄

I just saw someone on Facebook claiming she's heard multiple 'horror stories' from resale owners who can't use resale points to book their DVC. Insists this is true.
Totally made up of course because no one savvy enough to buy resale would then wrongly think booking is any different with their resale points.
My worry is people looking to research believe all the misinformation.

YT. It would be interesting to see the breakdown of where the International Owners live. I suspect we top that league or maybe Brazil?

I am informed Brazilians are the top International owners for Golden Oaks.

I would expect there to be more Canadian owners than Brits, purely for geographical reasons?

I believe that "uninformed" owners aren't purely an American phenomenon - there have been posts from owners on here that make me scratch my head sometimes...

I'd imagine Canadians would be top Tom if you count them as international, then maybe UK. I'm not sure if they can sell directly to Brazil over the phone, but Brazilians must be big buyers at WDW.
In many countries and even a couple of States, they can't sell unless the person is in Florida to sign. That must reduce sales in those places because I imagine quite a few think about it then buy on the phone when home.

YT. Totally forgot about Canadians. I suspect you are right.

With that daily Lufthansa flight I wonder where the Germans sit in the grand scheme of things?
