Does this look like a feasible plan?
Hi all,
Despite my (supposed to be budget) trip to OKW and AKL this September, I've decided to bite the bullet and book for Tokyo Disney in October 2019. I'm looking at dates around 23/24/25 October, so I can take full advantage of the Halloween and Christmas festivities. Is this doable, or am I better focusing on Halloween (which we both love) and just heading out early September? I was thinking of arriving on a Tuesday, 3 nights in the Sheraton Tokyo Bay, then travelling to central Tokyo for 8 nights there, followed the the last 3 nights in the Disneyland or MiraCosta hotel? |

Hi,
How are you with heat? Tokyo will be hot and humid in early Sept - so I wouldn't go then personally. I would aim for October and you will also catch the start of Maple season if you are lucky. You will have much more chance of seeing Fuji in October as well. |

Thank you! I’m okay with heat but honestly, I’ll be doing so much I’d rather it was a little cooler. I was more thinking of crowds, but as Japan don’t have an October school break, I guess any day will be fine as long as I avoid weekends at Disney? And I’d love to see how they did Halloween and Christmas!
I think I’ll stick to late October/early November, thank you! |

This is exactly what we hope to do - a few days around Halloween then go back for the beginning of the Christmas season! I’m glad to hear I’m not crazy (or at least not the only crazy person! Ha ha). I really want to see how they do Halloween and Christmas too.

I’m not sure what the impact will be but the rugby World Cup is being held in Japan from 20th September and runs through to the final on the first weekend in November.
We’re planning to go out the day after the final.

I should imagine prices will be higher especially with accommodation. They have a national holiday on 3rd November and I think the Monday will be a holiday as it falls on a weekend. That’s when the final is too.
I’ve been looking at prices this year and they go up in October and November due to the fall season with the gorgeous foliage colours. I think it will be even more next year with the rugby

Oh I hadn’t even thought about the rugby! Chances are that’s going to make that plan out of my price range. I’m more a Halloween lover than Christmas, so i think the middle of September will have to do, but hoping for some decent flight prices with my avios points

THat sounds like a plan. I’m hoping the prices would have dropped back after the final but no idea yet

Make sure to use a crowd calendar for Tokyo Disneyland - it can get incredibly crowded there and as a lot of the guests are locals they have no qualms about queuing up for a long time for rides/etc! However it's also one of the nicest parks to visit when there are crowds as people do things like sit down to watch parades/shows, so you can get a good view of them even if you arrive late (as everyone in front of you is seated on the floor)!
I went in October 2015 and the weather was perfect when I was there - blue skies, just need a light cardigan in the mornings and evenings - but we were very lucky with the weather. Don't remember very much in the way of Halloween though except some decorations around the parks and Haunted Mansion Holiday, certainly nothing along the scale of MNSSHP or Mickey's Halloween Party.
