I've looked at this and the food offering hasn't sounded to good.
I like hot food

When I went to Boston a few months ago, I got a nice hot breakfast before pre clearance.

I like the idea of chilling out before boarding a long flight. But the food would need to make it worthwhile.

Can any one shed any light on the food offerings?

I wasn't asking for your agreement - just giving my opinion.

I was in 51st a few months ago and yes there is he things you say - but I much prefer the restaurant before pre-clearance. I personally wouldn't use the lounge again.

Certainly, for my morning flights it was: pancake machine, breads, crisps, orange juice, yogurt, cheese, biscuits, pastries, that sort of thing.

You can definitely do pre clearance at any stage, you do not have to wait to be called.

The food offerings from last June were Pancakes, croissants, danishes, muffins, olives, nots, cheeses, crackers, soup, brown bread, yogurt, mini quiches, crisps, popcorn, filled rolls & sandwiches.

Then there is a decently stocked alcoholic bar with a good quality coffee machine.

Hope that helps!

We have a similar transfer time as you. We arrive just before 12 and then fly out at 3pm. I just thought it gave us time to eat before pre-clearance as I read the food offerings were not that plentiful after customs. I never considered the lounge as previously the time between the flights was not that long. What food is available after pre-clearance? Where is best place to grab a sandwich for the kids to take on the plane?

We absolutely loved it but it was free for us (we flew business class). I'd probably pay for it another time...
