We have stayed in a Disney hotel once, back in the day, Dixie Landings which is Riverside now I believe, we loved it, kids were little, but so expensive, since then we always stay at the Rosen Inn International on I Drive, it’s cheap & clean great location, so near to all the Fav eats, Dunkin Donuts 🙊IHOP & Denny’s, all the money we save means we can do lots of shopping too, I’m in the minority & I’m lucky the Hubbie loves to shop as much as me 🇺🇸❤️🙌of course if I won the Lottery it would be Disney hotels all the way

Only been 3 times (2 times on different hotels on I-drive & most recently in a villa at Davenport).
I am torn about whether I’d stay on-site (if money were not an obstacle). Part of me would love to experience on-site, especially being able to get to the parks earlier, but part of me would miss seeing the shops, restaurants and general surroundings outside of Disney.
The only time I’ve been on-site was at DLP a few years ago & have to say it was nice being able to get on rides earlier & walk to the park (10 mins) as the buses were packed!

First trip I knew nothing about florida so picked a heap hotel with free shuttle buses (clarion inn at lake buena vista). All we are about was a comfy bed!
We stayed therefor 7 trips in total but changed to baymont inn and suites at celebration this year as for the 2 of us it was £300 cheaper & included breakfast.
Once again it was cheaper, had shuttles (though we've drove for 7 of 8 trips) was walking distance to walmart & loads of places to eat and, helpfully for FOP, was just minutes drive to animal kingdom
