If you haven't been to Cracker Barrel, just go there and skip the buffet. It's the best breakfast in town IMO. And it's so affordable you can order a la carte to your heart and stomach's content and still pay less than $15.

Does The Wave have pastries/cereal/breads? Two of my children don't like hot breakfasts so would want something like that

Another good breakfast choice I hadn't thought of before, with huge portions and both standard and different types of dishes, is Hash House a Go Go. Try their banana pancake or chicken and waffles. Third Watch is popular too, but, I don't really get the hype. I'll have to give it another go though. Same with the Wave. Gonna try that one too. But to your original question mentioning buffets...they seem to be dwindling in terms of popularity. Golden Corral is probably the largest, but, the old faithful likes of Ponderosa, Sizzler and Shoney's are still around too.
