I'm sure a few customers are recognising themselves here as well. Who knew our cheerful banter (or genuine shock at how much we actually bought) was so boring for the checkout staff?

It’s not meant as hostile, more a lighthearted point that we hear it a lot. I used to make the same jokes before I worked at a supermarket.

Not the first message I was hoping to see when I woke up. Maybe I’ll delete this. I didn’t think anyone would be offended by it.

Again, not what I was trying to achieve. We’ve all done these jokes, even me, but my point was that a lot of the time we don’t realise that cashiers hear those same jokes all day. I know I didn’t! It wasn’t passing judgement on you or anything, more the silliness of it.

Made me chuckle, I work in retail and its not just supermarkets those exact sayings are quoted... Daily but I smile cos its easier to say not heard that one before 🤔🤔😂😂

Sue don't change to the self serve checkouts those things will send you to the brink of madness... Unexpected item in the bagging area and all that 😠😠😠🤬🤬🤬

I actually avoid the self check-outs because I think if everybody uses them more staff will be made redundant.

I always chat to the checkout staff! Hasn’t realised that I was probably boring them 😂😂
Luckily none of them have been rude enough to let me know so far and they have happily humoured me! In fact most have chatted back 🤣

Oh we aren’t bored by it, we’re just used to it. And yeah I laugh too, (but not in the way on my video lol), but yeah I always chat
