Not Tesco but I tried to get a Morrison’s delivery. All the Christmas slots must have gone in about 10 minutes ! Annoying not getting a slot when you shop with them all year.

I don’t understand the issue to be honest. I have in the past booked home delivery a few days before Christmas with no trouble at all. I didn’t know it was some thing people did a month in advance.
I have just been to Tesco site after seeing this thread and it says Christmas slots open up on the 30th November. At the moment only goes up to the 17th. |

That can only be for non-delivery saver customers as bookings opened at 12.01am this morning for delivery customers - would be surprised if there will be any more on 30th November as Tesco have been encouraging people to sign up for the delivery saver to qualify.
I’ve been a delivery saver customer for years and this is the busiest I’ve known it. |

waiting impatiently...!

It was for customers that are signed up to their home delivery scheme by paying a monthly fee for free deliveries.
It was priority access to the coveted 3 or 4 days leading up to the 25th. Mustn't have been that many available as between the site crashing at midnight and coming back online the slots had all somehow gone! |

Thank you, never heard of delivery saver! I recently started doing the weekly shop online from Tesco too, however DH told me to stop because of too many missing items and short dates.
Perhaps it will be quieter in store with everyone shopping online. |

Hi guys! I work in the Dotcom department for Tesco’s and we don’t actually work Xmas eve hence no delivery slots. The lady who placed an order for a frozen turkey I’d definitely get that delivered a few weeks before Xmas and not so close to Xmas and the availability is likely to be low. Fresh turkeys are all ordered and labelled with customers names so those won’t be a problem. Please please please don’t order specific Xmas items like tubs of roses/heroes etc to be delivered 2 days before Xmas as we don’t have them. Anything that can keep then order now! As you can imagine we don’t want loads of tubs of chocs in store which will be surplus come Boxing Day! Tubs of chocs are on offer this week £3.50 so get them now last offer before Xmas. If you have any questions regarding online delivery and availability send me a pm or I’ll chrck back here 😊

I got my Sainsbury’s delivery slot no problem. Just popped 6 bottles of champagne in my basket to hold my slot and then checked out. All done in under a minute this morning.

Got my slot without any problems for the 23rd. I started to panic yesterday, when I received an email from Tesco's:
We know that you weren’t able to secure a Christmas Delivery Saver slot when priority booking opened on Tuesday night. I’m really sorry about that and I understand how annoying this will be for you. Although it doesn’t take away any of the disappointment, I want to explain how and why this happened. Quite simply, this year saw record numbers of customers trying to book slots all at once – far more than in any other year. Although we’d planned for it, our best efforts weren’t enough, and the unprecedented volume of traffic caused some website issues. To try and make up for the inconvenience at least in part, we’d like to give you an eCoupon for £10 off your next online grocery shop. You will receive an email with the coupon code, shortly. Once you’ve filled your online basket, simply type in eCoupon code at the checkout and we’ll deduct £10. Once again, sorry about the technical problems this week. Thank you for shopping at Tesco – and for being a Delivery Saver customer. I rang them and they confirmed that i have still got my slot and that I can still use the coupon. Surprise - the coupon never arrived. |
