Some ideas from our walking picnics:

Cold boiled new potatoes, supermarket packed mini sausages/ sausage rolls/ scotch eggs etc

A french stick filled with cheese (pickle optional) cut into 2 inch slices.

Baby Belles

Variety of crisps/ nuts

Soft fruit in small tubs

A scotch egg and a bottle of wine, then just in case the egg has gone off just drink the wine.

Hunk of bread, salad from what ever you have in the fridge, cheese is unlikely to go off but might get sweaty so a nice piece of cheese. Don't take meat products. Some tasty Greek dessert! Water and wine.

Pour a little out of some bottled water and freeze. Wrap in a teatowel/kitchenroll
to soak up any condensation.

Then by lunchtime you have a nice cold drink and cool picnic without food poisoning, and a slightly damp cold teatowel/kitchenroll to wipe your hands/clear up.
