I have never had an email to link, I don’t think that is how the process goes.

Hi, same here. Confirmation says:

-------------
We're working our magic behind the scenes to link your booking with My Disney Experience, which will allow you to book your Disney Park Pass selections, dining reservations and more. We know you're excited to get started, however it can take up to 7 days until this functionality is available. You'll receive an email notification as soon as your booking is ready to be linked. Please note that if your booking includes Memory Maker, this will not appear in My Disney Experience until it is activated upon the first use of your ticket
------------------

Has been 7 days now, but no link in MDE yet.

I didn’t even expect an email . Just kept trying my reservation number on MDE and got it to link fairly quickly.

Disney’s website states the following:

disneyholidays/wal...ey-experience/

So, it says 48 hours not 72. Admittedly, the dining reservation bit is wrong so, y’know, I wouldn’t trust the rest either.

I agree with you. I remember when I did mine some years ago it took a couple of weeks before I could link the reservation. Therefore, to the OP, I’d suggest giving it 3 weeks or so and if it still doesn’t link after that then contact Disney.

To anyone else out there, you do not have to rush to book your park reservations. The parks only start to get booked up about 2 or 3 months beforehand. So for anyone going next Easter they only need to get their reservation linked by January next year.

Given that this is the first year of the parks reservation system working with parks open for full capacity, I don’t think you can categorically state people will be ok waiting until January to book park days over the Easter break. It could be ok but I think I would be booking my days for Easter as soon as MDE links just for peace of mind. You can always play around with the days later.

Yes, if you've already booked an onsite stay and your reservation links then by all means you can book the days. I'm not saying don't do it until January. I'm saying there is no need to rush and do it right now. There are some people staying offsite who are panicking thinking that they need to pay off their tickets ASAP otherwise they'll miss out and that's simply not true.

Considering up to now there has been limited capacity - that is, less reservations, making it more difficult to book previously than it will be in the future - and people were still able to book reservations around a month or so beforehand for the busy summer period, then I feel fairly confident that people will be able to book for the Easter 2022 period in January. They could book for this Easter just a couple of months beforehand when there was only a third of the normal amount of reservations available. There should be 3 times as many reservations next Easter.

If you want a different example - there is plenty of availability right now for the latter half of July. And also plenty of availability for the busy Thanksgiving period, which is only around 4 months away. The Christmas period is even busier than Easter and it has plenty of availability - and that's just 5 and a half months away.

So, sure, anyone wanting to be super cautious may want to fully purchase their tickets and get a reference number in order to link to MDE about 6 months beforehand (i.e. pay off their tickets to book reservations in November for next Easter). But there is absolutely no reason to rush to book for next Easter right now or in the next couple of months.

Of course, if anyone wants to do it now then they can; I get that people are excited about planning their Disney holiday. But they don't need to book it now.
