Yes, definitely worth getting a taxi there and back otherwise the driver doesn’t get to benefit from the free drinks!

It’s fabulous. We did the dolphin swim the last time and it was fun but I wouldn’t do it again. I actually would also say it’s not even the next part of the day we spent there. We loved it and are planning to go back when we next visit for a non dolphin day

On its own, yes.
Most May view it as a £170 or so package of… A day at D.C. with all food and drink for the day. 14 days SW 14 days BG 14 days Aquatica. All parking free throughout. Suddenly it makes Disney 14 at £465 plus parking and Universal £275 plus parking look rather excessive in comparison. I view the D.C. ultimate as an absolute bargain and our single ‘must buy’ ticket. We sometimes buy Universal, but no longer buy Disney, regarding it as a ‘rip off’. I have also visited the Dolphin sanctuary on the keys and would agree that on its own as a Dolphin swim, it is better value.. but I don’t even swim with the Dolphins at either location. That is not why I buy the ticket, simply walking past the Dolphin pool.

Discovery cove is a great relaxing day and I'd definitely recommend it. You don't need to do the dolphin swim if that isn't something you are bothered by. There are plenty of other things to enjoy like the lazy river, pools with fishes and seeing the birds, as well as the food included. I don't really know about with a 1 year old but I'm sure someone else will have some advice

We love it, we've never done a dolphin swim but have done the Shark interaction (we did it on the second day it was offered, so had an extra long session whilst they worked out logistics) and Seaventure which is amazing too. Both are less busy than the dolphin interaction.
There is sandy shallow areas around the grand reef and the rays come up close to the edge. The area round the lazy river has shallow water and sand. The Avary has a number of small rooms, get their early to feed the birds whilst they are still hungry. We like the food and snacks, lunch is from about 1130 - 1500 so you can stagger when you eat.
