Garage to cinema room conversion

I thought I would do a thread on our conversion although it was not recent but we still love it. We live in the countryside, house came with a big double garage but we also have more than enough driveway parking and could not be bothered using the garage. DH is not "handy", neither am I so it was a waste of space we decided to utilise.

Here are some before pictures.

We decided to split the space into three and have the media room, a home office and retain some storage space. These photos are of the structure coming together.

My goodness. There is a grands worth of timber gone in there already, plus the insulating board. Looking good.

Mind you the garage was well constructed to start with. Lots of brick piers in between the blockwork that is externally rendered. Nice and strong. plus the roof trusses are solid. Who trashed the inside of the door? Maybe the cat making his way out.

Dont forget those redundant garage doors are worth money for scrap!

I have not changed the external garane doors, they are now false doors that mask my cinema and home office.

I did one for a client a few years back, left the old doors in place aswell

We fitted 20 luxury seats in, 10 and 10 with a center isle

It worked very well and looked great ( i have the pics, but when i asked the client if i could use them on my FB page, they said no )

it had a outside door into a bit of a porch with a Fridge / freezer and small kitchen, then into the toilet, then a double door into the cinema
