Upgrading ticket to Annual Pass

Hi
So we have just booked for Feb 22. We’re staying at the Hotel New York - Marvel for 4 nights with a 5 day ticket. Are we able to upgrade these to Annual Passes once we are there ?

Historically it hasn't been possible to upgrade the tickets that are included in a hotel package to Annual Passes, but I'm afraid I don't know for sure if this will have changed at all upon reopening

Sadly, tickets purchased with the hotel/ticket package are not eligible to be upgraded to APs. Only park tickets purchased separately.

I was about to ask this.
So am I right in thinking that if we purchased our tickets separately, through the DLP website, that we’d then be able to upgrade them on arrival?

We want annual passes, but with the park reservation system in place, we obviously need them in hand to book our slots.
So we’re thinking that buying the 4 day park hopper tickets, so we can book our days in the parks, and then upgrading them during the trip, is the only way to do it.

If anyone could confirm whether or not that’d work, it’d be much appreciated!

In theory yes this would work, however there are a couple of things to mention:
- APs are not currently on sale so this would only be an option when sales restart. We are expecting them to recommence sales around August
- You will not receive a discount on the AP of the total cost of a 4 day 2-park ticket. Only the price of a 1-day 2-park ticket off each AP.
- Some APs cannot be used for the 5 days following purchase, so depending on the level of AP you choose to purchase will affect when you upgrade during your trip.

I hope that helps a bit - the only thing I am uncertain about is if you upgrade on day 1, if that would cancel out your original park ticket reservations. It would be worth checking that with guest services prior to the actual upgrade purchase - otherwise you could find yourself with APs and no park reservation.
