first 4 days of trip need suggestions of where to stay
So we have 4 days from landing at Tampa to heading to the Kissimee villa.
I was planning on Clearwater as we have been before and loved it but 4 days seems like a long time there. Is it work splitting this up and doing 2 days at Clearwater and 2 somewhere else and if so, where? |

I am not sure on what time of year you will be there and whether you have children... but.
I would look at either the Crystal River or the Rainbow river at Dunellon . You will find the Rainbow river in the 2019 trip report in my signature and the Crystal river in my 2022 pre trip report. I would look at Fort de Soto National park, just south of St Petes. If you have a D.C. ultimate, I would look at a night next to Busch gardens and thus a very early start in the park before moving on to Kissimmee at the end of the day.

I would rather go to AMI , not as busy and built up than Clearwater . But it depends on personal preference

Anna Maria Island. We booked Cozy Cottage via VRBO, they do shorter durations, as most want a min 7 nights.

We love Honeymoon Island and are often the only people there, amazing beach, lovely rangers, interesting exhibitions in the (tiny) museum and great walks.
AMI is beautiful and restful. There is some great on the beach adventure golf at St Pete's, there is Busch Gardens and Adventure Island waterpark opposite as well as the Aquarium. Loads of different boat rides. The Pier 60 Sunset Festival, has a lovely arty festival vibe and it's not too far to Lakeland for the Silver Moon Drive-In We also love Terra Ceria State Park for a chilled walk and nature hunt
