I am looking for October / November 2021 and they are 3 times the price that I usually pay. This explanation would explain why that is so thanks for the info. I will wait a few weeks before trying again.

Don’t wait, check multiple times a day and book as soon as you see a semi normal price.
When I was booking for Oct 30th-nov 20th, the prices would change all the time. I’ve currently got a minivan with Budget through Autoeurope for £783. The price was only there once. It went back up the next day.

Check with Andy at DFCH, autoeurope (when logged in), ebookers (when logged in), Costco. They’re the places that have had the deals pop up over the last few months.
