Endless Summer is great for the price, and the location is good. But it is the epitome of a *new* value hotel. Thin walls, small rooms, obviously no express passes; it all depends what you’re looking for in a holiday. I’d stay there again tomorrow as it’s so reasonably priced.

Endless Summer has free buses to Universal, although they drop off at the entrance of CityWalk rather than near the park entrances like the boat. To me, the boat convenience is worth the extra money. But it's probably not that big of a deal to walk through each time.

How much more is Royal Pacific over Sapphire Falls? You will get the Express passes included then as well as the boat. You probably wouldn't need them for an entire week though, but you could do a night or two at RPR (you get passes on both check in and check out days, so 2 nights would give you 3 days of passes) and then switch over to ES for the rest of the week.
Quick answer to this, no express passes at Sapphire, but I always do a week here everytime, and over a week you get to ride every ride, numerous times so no pass needed.
If I was only able to stay one or two nights I would then stay at the three top hotels for the express pass.

Just wanted to say thanks for everyone’s input.

I ended up booking the Aventure hotel last night for 8 nights as it was cheaper to fly back a day later even with one extra hotel night.

Can’t wait now!

ALso a possibility is cabana bay across the road. You could also stay there and walk across the road and get the boat.
The boat network is available to everyone even if not staying in Universal or visiting he parks! The ride to Portofino Bay is the nicest as the view of the hotel is lovely.

Also worth looking at suites in the cheaper hotels (Cabana, Summer nights etc) as the seperate living area is nice for less than a room in the more expensive hotels.

I would also look at booking direct with Universal. You can get prices from their website, book and cancel quite easily. You then have the option of waiting till nearer and finding passholder rates that can make it even cheaper.
