Mobile Probably pointless but fastpass question

Probably totally pointless but I am staying optimistic.
Are fastpasses still a thing? Should I be trying to book?
We go in September 🤞and are nearly at the 60 day mark so I need to be looking at fastpasses. Do they still exist?

Lots of rumours floating around about its replacement. And I strongly suspect there will be a change, as the FP system itself is fully operational (CMs can still issue "magic moment" FPs to guests on any attraction) so there's another reason why they haven't switched it back on.

I am hoping they announce something soon for the sake of the summer guests, the queues are getting out of control and that's not nice in the heat!

With the introduction of the new system at DLP I woud suspect that there might be rollout of that paid for style system (as in per person per ride payment) as opposed to the previous/existing system.
DLP currently 8 Euros per ride for a fast pass, with a return time system in place for stand by lines once they reach capacity.

WDW is very different though. There are only 10 FP rides in the whole of DLP, and if you have EMH you can do most of them as walk-ons anyway.

I am not convinced WDW will do the same system. We’ll have to wait and see.

Are we talking about the FP+ or whatever it was last time we went? Where I had to get up at silly o clock 30 days in advance to book passes? It is no more? I mean… it was a pain and initially I preferred the old system where you went to a machine and got a window and waited then got a new one but I got used to it. But no fastpasses AT ALL just first come first served? Or pay? Mmmm not sure how I feel about that - I’ve always refused the express pass at universal and felt Disney have remained elite to me because their fastpass system is included in the ticket price.
Oh well at least I’m not having to get up at silly o clock to book

Yes that’s the system we’re talking about. It’s been gone for a while thanks to the pandemic. May come back or may not.

Fastpasses are not a thing at the moment. You can't book them. So, there are only standby lines at the moment, plus the virtual boarding passes for Rise of the Resistance.

We don't know when or if fastpasses will come back. There are various different rumours about different paid fastpasses systems that might be coming to WDW sometime in the future, but we don't know when that will happen nor what the system will be yet. I'm sure there will be a few "interesting" threads here on the DIBB when something gets officially announced.
