Miami or Naples

So, we want 4 nites at a beach at the end of an orlando trip (8nites Coronado springs, 2 nites Universal Royal Pacific Resort, we want some lazier days, water sports, boat trips... our eldest son is keen to go to Miami (I hear you saying but You’re paying!)

... so rather than have a mardy teenager for the end of the holiday is Miami an option? TA told me it’s more vibrant as a city, but there’s stadiums etc for son to tour -he’s into basketball/American football... I’m craving Naples but wanted to hear from other families if they liked Miami or is just too vibrant for a chilled end to the holiday?

Can't comment on Miami as it has never appealed to me so only flown back from the airport.

However, Naples is a great place to chill out. We stayed up the road at Bonita Beach so a short drive from Naples itself (but cheaper). The beaches there are really nice and we had dolphins swimming within 50ft of us.

Plenty of boat trip options nearby - even a fast ferry to Key West if you really wanted to splash out!

Miami Beach, been once and got out quick. Apart from the very expensive areas it was not very appealing. Hotel we were in had a great looking lobby, rooms were another story; rusty appliances, nail holding cupboard door shut, loud arguments through the walks. Went up the coast Disney’s to Vero Beach for a fantastic beach time instead
