Disneyland transfer to Universal City?

Hi we're staying at the Grand Californian in November for 4 days then want to transfer to the Hilton at Universal City for a further 3 days. Having read several posts, I still cannot make my mind up on how to get there without hiring a car.

In my mind, the easiest and possibly cheapest solution seems to use the Disneyland Shuttle to LAX and get another shuttle, taxi or UBER from there. We will be 2 adults and 2 kids.

If anyone has any better suggestions - I'm all ears!

you could try mears, they do a shuttle. I would also price out Uber direct or just hire the car, it seems a faff going to LAX and then on to Universal

I'm doing the same trip but in the other direction, I decided in the end to get a uber to Burbank Airport from Universal city, and then hire an Alamo car and drop it off in downtown Disney. for 24h the rental cost about £30

The traffic is so bad in the LA area I would not trust an Uber or a taxi as it could cost a fortune.

Price a car service! We have done this trip before with 'Golansky' as well as airport to Anaheim and to/from Universal Hilton on different trips. Great prompt service and the price is upfront including gratuities.

Our next trip to LA in June I will price with them again but to be honest I will probably use Uber or Wingz as we used Uber for the first time this year and couldn't fault them.

Actually try Wingz as they set your price and time etc ahead of your trip.

Used Wingz in San Fransisco and had no issues at all.

Supershuttle and their private transfer option may also be worth a look.

We used Prime Time Shuttle to transfer from our Disneyland hotel to the Sheraton Universal City.

They provided door to door service at the times we needed at a cost of $65 total.

Uber is a set price in USA rather than a 'meter' (unless it's changed recently) If you download the app you can do a dummy booking to see the cost.

It is only a set price at the time of booking and has surge pricing to consider. So whilst you can see a price it could be significantly different on the day. To limit this, do the dummy booking on the same day of the week at the same local time so you get surge pricing as well.
