How far are the Universal hotels from the nearest (non Universal) shops and Restaurants?

Or you can get a taxi / uber from the hotel or the parking area (though if you make it that far i would walk)

Don't use the hotel taxis without meters - some of them seem to think they can add about 20 dollars on to the fare!

I think Inky meant to just have breakfast at Cabana Bay not stay there? It's not far to walk over to Sapphire Falls or Cabana Bay to eat from RPR. We've always just eaten at CityWalk or in the parks to be honest, enough choice for us. We have driven to other restaurants as well though.

How safe is this walk traffic wise and road crossings?

We just eat on site- if you don’t want a full meal out (we very often don’t)- grab a BK or a Panda Express👍👍

It is a very busy multi lane road. But it has many crossing points with pedestrian crossings along it. We walked it regularly in June this year. You would have to be careful with small children as there is a lot of fast moving traffic but it is used by many families

As DisneyDaffodil says it is a very busy road but as long as stick to the pedestrian crossings you will be ok. A lot of people use the crossings as they walk from the hotels on that side of the road to universal.

Thanks for the the replies everyone. We won't be walking the 15 mins do IDrive in the August heat! Looks like it might be on site breakfast and Uber to IDrive in the evening.
