Disney Magic 7 day Eastern Caribbean DAY 3

Monday September 28th 2009

Day at sea.

We stayed in bed until gone 9 am this morning (this is so different to being at WDW lol!)
I went and got a Latte from Cove cafe then we went for an omelette at Topsiders.

After breakfast we went to the Castaway club party, the last one we can go to until we do another 3 cruises as it is now only for gold members and above (so 5 cruises and more).
We got cans of soft drinks and some cookies and Castaway club pens and found a seat.
There was some short videos on the making of the Disney Magic and Wonder and we got to meet some of the ships officers.
Tom, the Captain of the Disney Magic said a few words and announced that he had been appointed as the Captain of the Disney Dream when it launches in 2011.

We then spent an hour or so reading on the verandah before going to the Buena vista theatre for a talk by Peter McGrath.
Peter McGrath is the Vice President for creative design at Walt Disney Imagineering and was on his first Disney cruise so was giving a lecture on W.D.I
He talked a bit about the history of Imagineering, his past in Imagineering and about future projects including the Fantasyland expansion at Walt Disney World which sounds amazing.
The talk was only scheduled for half an hour but he over-ran by double that which was great as it felt a bit special to listen to an Imagineer describing their projects instead of just reading about them.

Next was our meeting with Branden the DVC guide, and yes we bought 160 points with Bay Lake Tower as our home resort, we were planning on buying in a few years anyway and with the upcoming price increase and the excellent cruise discounts it felt to good to miss.

After talking with Branden for a while we only just got to the evening show in time. Tonights show was Twice Charmed, an original twist on the Cinderella story. This show isn't on the Wonder so we'd not seen it before but it was amother brilliant show based on what if the fairy Godfather stepped in and stopped Cinderella from ever trying on the glass slipper.

Twice Charmed :-

We went and got changed next for dinner, which tonight was at Parrot Cay and an Island diner and again was amazing, I think I had sirloin steak tonight.

After dinner we went to Rockin bar D to watch the comedy cabaret by Don Friesen who was very funny, we went back to the room just gone 12 and decided to try room service, so we had pizza at nearly 1 in the morning lol! (it was nice too)

And then bed, oh and still loving being back onboard.

Another fab day. Did the boat feel very busy on a sea day? We didn't get the chance on the 3 day to experience this. Fab pics in the theatre. Can't wait to read Day 4.

Sounds like a great day, Did you get the free cruise with the dvc points or was it a choice between discount price and free cruise?

No not at all, as far as I know the ship was at about full capacity and there still seemed plenty of free space for everyone I suppose if you had little ones the kiddies pool got a bit crowded but theres always plenty of other things to do as you know

Hi Burt, you got a discount for buying onboard anyway and then a choice of a further discount or in our case a 3 day cruise for 4. For us the extra discount worked out better as I had a rough idea what the 3day cruise would cost and the discount was a bit more than the cost. We ended up paying about $16 per point less than book cost, I suppose even more if you take into account the price increase that happened a few days later
