Question Help please, more Dream Questions

Sorry for being a pain but I really want to get our first cruise right so that we all enjoy it as much as possible but especially Josh. If he's not happy it will be a nightmare for us

Is it best to book direct with DCL first then move to DU or as a first timer shall I book straight with DU?

If I do book with DCL what is the number to ring or do you all book on-line?

Can I request which stateroom I'd like?

Is it best to go for a higher deck? I'm thinking either 7, 8 or 9.

I'm thinking the 3 night in August would be best for us although if the 4 nights aren't much more do I go for that.

Help, I don't know what to do for the best

Caron

Hi Caron.

When we booked our first cruise we booked with DU. But for our Oct cruise we booked with DCL(over the phone) and then transferred our booking to DU. It was very simple to do and it only took a day or two for them to transfer it over. You will be able to see your booking on both the DCL and DU websites. We did try to book online with DCL but it was having none of it so we called. You also get the bonus of both stateroom credits that way too.

We were able to ask for a particular stateroom as it was available.

We were in a Cat 10 on Deck 1 which was excellent for us as there are only a few rooms down there so it was lovely and quiet. Our next cruise we are on Deck 7 which I am happy with.

We did the 3 night and it was great but it does feel short. I have heard from several people that the 4 night seems a fair bit longer and its more relaxing. You would also get the Palo brunch on the 4 night if that appeals to you. We have gone for the 4 night next year. We would have considered the 7 night cruise but it was just out of our budget.

Thanks Leanne that's really helpful. Do you have the phone no. and time DCL open for bookings on Monday please?

We've decided (well I have) on a room with a balcony as we like to give Josh time to de-stress in our room quite a bit and it will mean we're not cooped up inside all the time. I'm also going to try and book a disabled access room because we'll need his wheelchair on board. I'm tempted by the 4 night but after our disastrous trip to Vero this year I'm not sure although there will be more to occupy him on board the Dream I'm sure as he will love the Disney shows. Can you see them more than once do you know?

Hi Caron we had a accessible room on the disney ship and there's some at the rear on deck 7 with easy access to the secret deck there are inside staterooms and outside that are both accessible where if you wanted to make the cruise cheaper you could book a inside nr this secret deck at the rear of the ship and make full use of this are for relaxing outside space
but if you can afford to pay more for a balcony room then these outside staterooms have huge balconies just perfect for relaxing on (deck 6 also have similar sized balconies in the accessible rooms at the rear) you can also see the fireworks from the pirate party from these decks if it all gets a bit too stressfull and busy up on the main deck for Josh

glad to see you have the cruise bug happy planning

hope that explanation is not all to rambling for you

I think we called 800 951 3532. I don't know what time that line opens so you may want to check that out before trying to book on Monday.

What normally happens with the shows is there is a show each night that is performed twice each night.
As there are two seatings for dinner the early diners see the late show and the late diners see the early show.
You are not forced to have dinner in the dining rooms if you prefer to do your own thing. You can order room service or use one of the food outlets on the ship. We like to sit down to dine each night but you won't be able to see the show twice if you do that.
But we didn't even get a chance to see all three shows as there is just so much going on. They also have a a cinema so you could take Josh to see a new movie if he would like that.

Thanks Leanne, I didn't mean see the same show twice on the same night but if Josh liked it he might want to see the same one every night.
