It sounds like you had some amazing hikes in California. I googled the view from Clouds Rest, oh my word those views are insane! I would so love to see that view but i don't think I'd have the stamina and i certainly wouldn't have the nerve to walk that last stretch. Have you completed the hike up to Half Dome?

I think we would've explored more in Death Valley if we'd have visited at a different time of the year.

It sounds like you'v e had some wonderful adventures, nothing wrong with taking it all at a slower pace now.

Thanks for your lovely reply

Sadly never managed to get a permit to climb Half Dome

Ah your now onto my favourite place in California, Yosemite. We didn't drive in via the Tioga Pass, the photos are beautiful, especially of the lake. The kids are very photogenic.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who shed a tear at seeing Tunnel View, I just couldn't believe I was there!
I'm so glad you aren't camping in Curry Village, those cabins look far more civilised

Tioga Pass was another of our favourite drives and we were surprised by all the beautiful places you could visit along the way.
Aww thank you i do love to take photo's.
It's such an emotional thing to see isn't it, the beauty of Tunnel View is just stunning.
We were opposite a few tents they looked pretty cosy! I know you're only in your accommodation to sleep but i felt more secure staying in the cabin

Those permits are pretty hard to get aren't they. The hike to Clouds Rest looks epic especially with those views, at least you've achieved that legend of a walk

The photos do make it look simply breathtaking so I can only guess at how it feels in real life! Some lovely family shots there. I’m sure the kids will never forgot it!

The cabin looks cosy but it must be nice to stay so close to everything too xx
