Would a regular plaster work the same? It might look a bit better than duct tape.

I think normal plasters allow air through.

Good point. I think you’re right.

If you are willing to use alternative therapies consider homeopathy homeopathyplus/warts-tre...th-homeopathy/

Thuja normally works and DD used it with success. Other Dibbers have used it as well. It's inexpensive.

Tee tree oil or apple cider vinegar can help get rid of warts

I had something removed from beneath my knee last year. Not sure what it was but it had been there for years but was getting to a size where I was catching it especially when shaving. The GP surgery put me on the minor ops waiting list and last august I got an appt. the specialist nurse just sliced it out and put a few stitches in and I was back to work, all very simple. I am surprised you would have to go private for this.

Maybe it depends on area but definitely where I live they won’t remove things like warts or skin tags as they are considered cosmetic.

I think it does depend on area. I know of people that have had skin tags removed at the GP surgery in their areas. As far as I know, we’ve never had that here. There’s a beauty salon in town that does it for £10 (she’ll do several at a time) so it’s not an expensive alternative really. I don’t think she does warts though.

I had 2 removed from my leg years ago had it done by my GP in the local cottage hospital.
When I was in my teens I had about 6 on the palms of my right hand which eventually fell off.

I had a verruca on my foot for ages. Tried all the over the counter stuff, went to the chiropodist who put acid on but it still survived. Eventually saw a different chiropodist who said they couldn’t treat it.

About a year later I got fed up of it and poked it a lot one day and then some months later I realised it had gone.
I’ve got no idea if poking it finally shifted it but I’d tried many different things over a few years and then it just disappeared.
