My teenage twin daughters twigged about Santa when they were about 10 after someone at school let the cat out the bag We told them Santa is real he just lives in your imagination and no one can take that away Just like me at 60 years old I still believe in an 8 foot mouse😀

It was a long time ago now but my son was only about 5 when he stopped believing in Santa. Annoying little so and so used to then wind his younger two sisters up about there being no such thing as Santa🙄.

My only son decided he never wanted children. Deep down in my heart I think it had a lot to do with his father leaving and the huge distress it caused to both sides of the family. I've never questioned it and never would. But how I would have liked to have had grandchildren to spoil. Back to the post, I honestly dont remember what I said to my boy about the tooth fairy or Santa, probably my brother told him 'course their is no Santa' grow up

I’m dreading when this happens and the magic is gone. My little granddaughter aged four scrutinises everything already and goes to bed, gets up in the morning and asks the most obscure questions.
For example the other day she got up and asked how the first human was formed as they didn’t have a mummy or a daddy😮😮.
We’ve already decided that we had better have some plausible ideas up our sleeves if she decides to interrogate us! Four is too young to not believe we feel lol!

Carolyn. I remember when my Daughter was about 4 she also asked where she came from.

I said Marks & Spencer's and she believed that for a few years. Then I let my Wife deal with the issue.

Then she said Father Xmas isn’t real either. I was mooching around and found the Elf on the Shelf under Mums bed!

So we have have just had an interesting half hour natter about beliefs v presents and where the line lies.

How sad when they suddenly twig it’s all make believe.

I did have to warn my Daughter about stuff under her bed

This is what we've done with our eldest who's now 14. He knows, I just won't confirm it.

I was the last in my class to believe in Father Christmas, and I was 7. And that was back in the 1970s.

I think a lot of kids keep up the pretence so they can keep getting presents!

That’s what happened to my oldest son. He found out aged 5 when a neighbour told her daughter (they were also in the same class) there was no Santa as she did not like telling lies to her. The daughter then told as many children at school as she could.

The family were quite religious and my son was also told by this girl he was an evil person as he did not go to church. He came to me crying asking if he was bad.
