Those that should not be on planes are those selfish people who pop their seat back the minute they sit down and for the duration of the long haul flight, making it so miserable for the person behind. Seats should only go back when its pitch black outside, sleep time.
Nice to see the angry side of "mature" fliers coming out.

What about parents who let their little offspring sit on the carousel before it starts despite the very clear signs saying "Please keep young children behind the blue line". And yes I am a parent and a grandparent.

Whilst we're at it what about at the gate.

"Please remain seated until your row is called for boarding" does not mean "Please stand at the entrance to the gate blocking it for everyone even if your row hasn't been called" It may come as a surprise but you will have a seat.

Mick

I couldnt decide whether to respond to this thread because quite frankly I thought (or hoped) it was a wind up... tbh having just turned 60 and with a brother and sister in law nearing 80 who cycle everywhere, travel all over the world and run a local walking club for those 30-40 years their junior , I did hope I too had many years to travel left to me... Surely tsnot ,the age but how fit and health you are ? My DH has been known to run the odd marathons n and I swim in an outside pool every Monday ruing before work as well as doing regular gym sessions and various other activities including cycling to work, ... I wonder how the fit the person starting this thread is ?...
And I must sayI do agree with the person that mentioned the little darlings who make your flight a nightmare ( or rather their parents)😡 Now before you get ready to start shouting at me, I have 7 kids, numerous grandkids and was a teacher for years but even my infinite patience wears thin whenI get stuck the whole fly got from LGW to MCO with the back of my seat being kicked to bits and a parent who doesn’t give a damn in charge !
Anyway returning to the main point of this thread, your age doesn’t automatically mean you will fall ill and derail the travel plans of others , the general health of the person might or in some cases, the level of alcohol they have consumed... so please consider the overweight, unhealthy 2somethings who fly on holiday with you and whether they may, in fact , cause you the great inconvenience of falling ill on your trip...

I think this is a “light blue touch paper and retire” post. Certainly getting attention, unfortunately. Hope it’s a joke.

As others have said ... surely the tipping point is affordable insurance?

Oh how good to get a thread that includes reclining and seat back kicking instead of Covid, Politics and (sorry) b****y GRAPHS and statistics.

Anyway we took my old mum to Florida well into her 70s. She got a little bored after a few days (she'd been a few times) and decided to take a flight to San Francisco and pick up a coach trip through Yosemite and other spots). Met her back at MCO five days later😊
My brothers 70 this year and we will be going with him and probably until into our 80s.
Not a big fan of reclining tbh but hey ho its allowed. Kids kicking seats usually just ask nicely and they sort it.
We are great tippers! Always 20% not like these tight young people who let us down and poorly tip. (&#129315

I'm sorry to hear you're getting too old for the flight to Florida MH but take heart, when you get that card from the Queen you will get a new lease of life.
