I just got a standard reply from a WhatsApp to Virgin Holidays. It says our refund was requested on the 23rd April and to allow 120 days from then.

I find it "funny" that watsapp is being used, to me it's an informal method of communication that a lot of people don't have access to.

Well our flights are cancelled and we have had nothing. We have tried via text and watts app, both say someone will be in touch. Can’t get in touch with anyone via phone. This is going to take forever!

Day 88 today, I think. Requested refund on 31 March. Can’t be bothered with a chargeback so now just waiting. We do have more flights booked for Oct which I’m probably going to move to next Spring now.

I think I’m on day 99 Virgin cancelled our 21/3 flight on 18/3 we asked for a refund on 19/3 😡

I got sick of waiting so did a chargeback through Starling Bank as I paid with my debit card. I had to provide screenshots of emails etc and I also quoted the European directive number (it’s on loads of threads) and money received back without fuss.
I’m so relieved as initially I thought it wouldn’t be possible having paid with debit card. Don’t wait - contact your bank. |

I gave them 14 days after they cancelled (100% more than required) then did a charge back and had my money 2 days later. They had 20 days to dispute and this is lapsed. So I have my money safe and sound.
Cant understand why anyone who wants their cash back quickly doenst do this. Edited at 04:37 PM. |
