Men at Christmas

Mine just lets me get on with it, that suits me just fine! He doesn’t question the amount of money I spend on presents or food (from the joint account) and does a few things to help but he does need to be prompted. He’ll also do half of the house cleaning tomorrow.

Now, packing for our holiday, I think he’s in denial that he needs to sort his stuff out and we leave the house at midday on Thursday. I can sense the normal pre-holiday argument brewing

Ds2 is in the bad books he was supposed to pick up several bottles of Aldi’s Prosecco last week he forgot
He appeared earlier Mum have you got any she will kill me
Que a trip to our garage DS1 works for Aldi and has been picking up,a case or two the last few weeks for a special party his bacon has been saved
I’ve banked the brownie points for future use bad mother that I am

He gets the decorations out of the garage and puts them back. Apparently then it’s over to me because he knows I just love doing all the buying, trapsing the shops when it’s chaos, wrapping, shopping, cleaning, decorating, and doesn’t want to steal my thunder or take the experience from me 😉. Oh and organise his and DDs Birthday a few days before Xmas, one who is tomorrow. He does also bank roll it all, so can’t complain.

It appears we’re doing it all wrong in this house! DH turns the house into a Christmas wonderland on 1st Dec, does all the Xmas food and gift shopping (although I help menu plan, and buy a few presents from Amazon!), and he wraps them... with ribbons and candy canes.

I think perhaps I married someone part elf! (and I’m really not complaining!)

This made me giggle today ... we received an Xmas card signed from DH uncle, no mention of his wife or three children.
We think he got told to “write the cards” and he did just that 😂😂

Im glad we are not the only ones who have a pre holiday argument! Ours is the same, I pack for everyone but hubby then he just doesnt do it until very last minute (one year he packed odd sandals so I had last laugh, spent whole holiday in one brown one blue)

My husband's jobs are...
Cleaning, tidying, hoovering, doing the laundry, chauffeur, entertainer, the list goes on.

The main thing is chef. He cooks all meals for everybody.

I am blessed.

My jobs are logistics, thinking and prepping. I have been sorting and arranging stuff for two months, and he magics it all for three days.

He has the hard bit, I couldn't cook Christmas dinner for love nor money.
