pushchair for an older child with sen?
Anyone have a pushchair for an older child who can but won't walk?
my 6 year old has autism and often refuses to walk anywhere unless he really has to and then it takes forever as he'll cry constantly his legs hurt or he's tired and sits/lays on the floor refusing to move or will go into a meltdown . If we take the pushchair he will either hide under the cover or want to lay down and ends up falling asleep. He's getting to big/heavy for the pushchair we have and while I am trying to get him to walk as much as possible some days its just so much easier for everyone to take it and get things done quickly rather than have him meltdown and it take hours. I've googled special needs pushchairs but they are really expensive considering I won't need it full time and not really sure they I'm looking for as they seem more wheelchair style so wondered if anyone has any recommendations or suggestions |

My DD had a maclaren major for a while, but i think they only recommended until about 8. Have you got a physio or OT that might be able to help you with support for funding towards something?

We have just swapped our Major for a convaid cruiser as my son in now 8 with severe autism. This was free from wheelchair services. I just asked our GP for a referral to them.

My daughter is 8 and still in her Maclaren Major. She has juvenile arthritis and ASD traits. We used that in the summer, it was a lifesaver.
