virgin airmiles - expiry date

I hope someone can help - the expiry date on the virgin airmiles is this the day you have to travel before or book the flight before?

Mine run out early 2020 but would like to use them later that year and would be booking in 2019.

Any advice would be great

As long as you book within that time it will extend your membership anyway. Any activity on the account at all extends it so you can buy something via Shops Away to keep it active.

If you have tesco club card you can add some to you account or make a small purchase from one of the shops away. If you did not mind doing surveys join e-rewards you gain points and then you can exchange them to fly miles cost nothing but your time I usually earn about 6000 miles a year there is a link on Flying Club website.

We are Virgin and BA members so to keep the accounts active I switch my Tesco club card around every three months to each account. One grouse with Virgin, why do they only show your expiry date on email statements they send you? What's so difficult about showing it on your account when you log in? Are they hoping people will forget about expiry dates and forfeit their points?
