Mobile Have I reduced my chances of upgrading?

Hi, I booked with virgin using miles. 70,000 plus £394! Which I’m super happy about. Though by paying this way does it mean I won’t be able to upgrade to Economy delight or higher?
What’s the best way to do this? Thank you!

Thanks for speedy reply! Looked on the app, but can’t see where this sort of thing is?

you can upgrade yes, you will need to call VA to do it though.
also the upgrade costs have gone up last year so not as good as it was..
I think the upgrade from EC to PE is now 22,400 ( plus 10,000 in Peak Periods )...

I booked miles plus money in 2016 and was told when I booked that I wouldn’t be able to upgrade due to the category of flight I had.

It is very much dependant on on the fare type you have booked. If you are wanting to upgrade only option will be to call and see what they can do for you.

We bought Miles plus Money fares for last years flights.

In order to upgrade them we would have had to pay £150 each plus the upgrade cost.

It all depends which fare bucket you fall into. I suspect if you can upgrade there will be extra charges as with our M&M flights.

However we were offered upgrades at the airport (cash not miles) but we declined due to the cost.

Those are the costs for upgrading the flexible cash tickets (which no one really buys, as they're so expensive). The miles needed to upgrade is the difference between the classes as if you were booking it in the first place. For Orlando, EC to PE is 10k, then a further 25k to Upper, each way.
