me too.

The noise of a toilet cistern dripping inside once "spoiled" an overnight stay at an airport hotel. DH could not understand how that bothered me more than people walking and talking whilst going past the room.

yes I suffer really badly from eating and any mouth noises. I remember when I was little I could not stand to be in the same room as my parents eating. they didn't eat like pigs or anything but my dad had some false teeth and they clicked. Oh my god I wanted to rip my ears off! I spent my teenage years eating in my room lol When I look back though I feel really mean because I know I used to glare at them and they used to mention it at times. They probably just thought I was being horrid and I had no idea then that it was a 'thing', just that I couldn't stand it.

I think the worst is when I can't get away, trains especially. being in a carriage with a noisy eater is horrendous. I get the sweats and can feel my heart beating faster, think it's the fight or flight response. On one journey we were sat opposite a family of 3 young boys and a woman, who I assume was their mother. She just sat on her phone all the time chatting or taking selfies and doing face time, whilst her offspring proceeded to eat all sorts of crispy things whilst spitting them at each other and smacking lips.

funnily enough my new kitten sounds like a hippo eating but it doesn't trigger me at all

Oh I do!

Noisy eaters - I literally cannot cope. I need to leave or I’ll explode.
Heavy breathing 😐
People tapping something like pens!

I know it’s irrational but I have the urge to scream or shout PACK IT INNNN! And I gave done a few times 😂

I’ve got it - mine’s worse when it’s repetitive noises. I nearly lost it on the train the other day - this woman was ferreting around in a brown paper Primark bag sorting her stuff out for about 20 mins
😬🔫Drives me insane x

that sort of thing triggers mine too - hands go into fists and I walk away... I just could not sit there - even just reading about it can sometimes make my teeth itch.

DD and I both have this. Sometimes it is so bad for her that she can't eat because of the noise it makes. Whistling is my trigger. People think it is funny but I actually want to kill people that whistle as I find it unbearable.

I know - I used to go to work on the bus - 45 min journey - and if it was "the whistley driver" I used to wait 20 min for the next bus.

(because even if he wasn't whistling at the time, he might start, and thinking about him starting was almost as bad as hearing it)

The train thing is the worst. I was once sat in front of someone who took forever eating something really loudly with lip smacking and tongue noises. I spent the time glaring at their reflection in the train window radiating hatred.

The one noise that doesn't bother me but does bother DH is the cat snoring! I think its really cute but it keeps him awake. Weird as people snoring drives me mad.
