Talk to me about Goa please?

We're looking at Goa for March next year, good time to go? Any recommendations please?

Thank you

We spent 5 weeks in his last week of November and December it was lovely tail end of monsoon season. We stayed at the property owned by my in laws and loved it. Very cheap and fabulous food (if you like Indian food) not great for European food choices.

We first went on our honeymoon 21 years ago.
We returned last February for the first time & remembered why we loved it so much.
We returned in March & we are booked to go again in Dec.
Along with Thailand,we will continue to return,as long as I can get, at least one new destination in each year,so we are still exploring new places.
We stay in candolim, which is north goa,but in Dec we are also planning to travel to south goa,so we are mixing it up a bit.
The hotel we stay in is marina bay,we like it because at night,we can walk out to both candolim & calangute,so best of both.
The people are the friendliest you will meet, the food is amazing & it is so cheap.
We average between £30 & £40 a day for both of us & I like my cocktails on holiday.
Is it noisy yes!
Is it dusty yes!
If you can get past that, you will love it.
You could even fly to the Taj Mahal,I think we paid £75 for return flights with air Asia.
If you have any questions,I will try to help.
March is fabulous weather.

Amazing, thank you

Very early stages of planning for us at the moment, but I'm sure i'll have plenty of questions if it's the winning destination

NB this was 20 years ago

we stayed in Arpora not far from Baga Beach cant recall the hotel will have a google

it was a short taxi into Calengute or Candolim, the hotel ran a shuttle to Baga Beach

its a massive culture shock when you arrive the dusty lack of streets/roads/paths.. poverty very evident but you will never meet happier / friendlier people... everywhere we went greeted by smiling kids, the espcially loved my missis, tall blonde have pics of her walking up the street with about 20 little kids trying to hold her hand

weather was early April... very dry just before monsoon but as so dry a lack of mossies

we used to 'hire' a taxi driver got friendly with and he drove us about all day for about £5 he just slept in his cab whist we were on the beach etc etc

we travelled south to Palolem beach which was fantastic and overnighted in a beach hut.. when i say beach hut i mean shed...

food was cheap as chips can remember fish curry/rice and a massive bottle of Kingfisher was 67p

as i say this was 20 years ago but would go back tomorrow

EDIT we stayed here , basic but decent enough, no idea of the standard now or other places

We liked Goa...we used it as a base for a month stay for our 30th wedding anniversary.
We had two days in Goa ...then took the trains for stays in Mumbai ...Jaipur and Agra ending up at the Taj Mahal...it's a fabulous way to see India.
You see so much of the real India from a train window.

We ended up back in Goa after a 33 hour train journey from Agra.
The beaches in Goa were lovely.
We used to stay up all night on the beach with other people ...just having a good time.
We went to a spice plantation and an Elephant sanctuary ..not sure if they still do that as it was nearly fifteen years ago.
