The only thing I do extra from all of the above brilliant suggestions is an emergency contacts list.
I add phone numbers to my phone contacts for anyone I might need to call quickly. For example the airline, hotel, car hire, UK passport office, bank & credit car company and travel insurance co. I add necessary details to the contacts (except PIN no’s etc). I also print these details out and make up laminated cards (credit card size) as belt & braces in case I can’t use my phone. Sounds a bit OTT but I travel solo and like to be in control ! |

i do this too! i have a small note book with all the important numbers, how to dial back to the uk, the UK consulate number, insurance policy and number which i then laminate and put into my purse. this is not OTT it is sensible traveling.
sorry had to stop for a bit as the cat is trying to persuade me that i forgot to give her wet food for breakfast - i did and she ate it, but the gods love a trier.

I use similar, I think Chris puts all his in one poly pocket, and moves stuff as used to the back, I use the booklet, with each thing in it's own pocket, in order or use.
We have a copy each, PDFs stored in a shared google folder, and everything in a folder in email to make it easier to locate. Funny thing is, when I went to Vegas with a girlfriend a few years back, even without prior discussion, we both went for the same belt and braces approach! /Mo |

I use a zip up wallet that came with a Kuoni holiday probably 40 odd years ago. But there is very little to take now it is all on the phone, tickets, maps, money etc.

Plastic A4 wallet for me too, with printouts of the important stuff (in the order it will be required). Electronic copies of the same all on the MacBook & boarding passes are all sent to the phone (assuming you don't get SSSS'd and cannot check-in online).
Overkill - quite possibly, but I work in IT and know that computer systems are not infallible. If you arrive somewhere and the computers are down, a piece of paper with an official printout could suddenly become invaluable. Am always careful what I print - i.e. a Virgin e-ticket is about 6 pages long including the T&C's - only ever print the first two pages which show the flight details and the contact centre numbers. The most important thing to carry with you about your person (so in wallet / purse / on phone) when in the USA is details of your travel insurance. If you end up in an Emergency Room, treatment will be limited until the hospital know they will be paid. Insure & Go are very good here - they send a credit card sized cars with your policy details & the contact numbers / email on, so it's easy to carry around. Never leaves my wallet when abroad, especially in the USA. |

That’s what I use too. All filed in order. You don’t need much but I like knowing I have it
