Mobile Aircon - temperatures

Hi all, we’re here at the moment but struggling with the aircon in the villa.
We arrived yesterday and have the setting at 75 cool on, fan on, however the temperature today in villa has not come below 88. It was roasting all last night.
All doors and blinds are closed. The fan outlet in hall has small amount of movement, ever so slightly cooler , with negligible air movement around house. Outside temp is approx 90.

Does it sound as if the aircon is kaput or can anyone advise
Thanks in advance

Hi,

I’d be contacting the villa management and complaining that the aircon isn’t working properly, worst case, they can advise it is incorrectly set. And if it’s not and it is faulty, they’ll soon fix it.

As long as it is set cool on and fan on or automatic it should be able to get the temp down even if it is 90+ outside. DO NOT adjust the temp any lower as you could damage it. It sounds like it is already broken and you need to call the management company ASAP.

If the thermostat is set on 75 but the temperature is saying 88 then there is a problem with a/c. You need to phone the management company.

Definitely sounds like there is something wrong with the aircon. As already advised speak to the management company and they should get somebody straight out to it.

Thanks all for advice. I looked at the external fan unit and the local air is cool, it does not appear to be extracting any heat from the radiators. Additionally the small amount of air movement is the inlet duct ...doh!, should have done the paper test before posting... nothing coming in via the outlets...

I have called the management and left message on machine, also sent email with photo of controller temps, in case the Scottish accent is not clear.
Given it is holiday weekend, I suspect it will be Monday before anything can be done, meantime it is a bowl of ice with a fan blowing across it, hopefully we can get room cool enough to sleep.
Thanks again all

If the temperature cannot be adjusted below 75 there is something wrong anyway.

management company should be available 24x7. It's not acceptable to have broken aircon in a villa you have paid good money for.

Escalate to the owner if necessary.
