I've been in September once & flew home 2 days early to avoid Irma. The parks were very quiet even at the start of the week when it was not clear if Irma would hit Florida. Park staff all said September is one of the quietest months & the weather was good.
Have been in early November a few times. One year we had to change our accommodation at last minute as a hurricane had gone through a week or so earlier and removed the roof off where we had planned to stay. Am off again on 2nd Nov this year to take our chances. Should, hopefully all be OK. Will probably see some rain, which is fine, but the chances of a hurricane by then are way lower. |

No.
The season runs June - November. We’ve been in December and it was too busy and horribly cold some of the time. Our friends have been in May and it rained the entire time. The weather is what it is. We love September, we are lucky that we always stay on site so we’re in what we would personally consider the best place in a hurricane. We know it’s a risk, but it’s one we’ll take. I would probably stay away from the Bahamas and the Caribbean in September though.

I went last September - it was fine. I'm going in 2 weeks time (16th September) and am going September next year. I have no intention of cancelling/moving either trip.

What about all the many thousands of people who've been over the decades in September (myself included) and haven't been affected - don't they count?

Our last two trips were early May this year and September last year.
The love bugs drove me insane in May, of the two months, I'd choose September (I wouldn't not go in either though ... but Both have "issues") I know you can get love bugs in September too, just a part of the variables we all experience ,for us May had love bugs and wetter weather than drier , love bug free September Edited at 07:24 PM. |

We have been going in September since 1990. It used to be a real quiet time in the parks. It’s been getting busier and busier year on year so, on a purely selfish note, I would be more than happy if September became unpopular again.
We travelled 2 days before Irma knowing our cruise was likely to be cancelled. Never gave it a moments thought not to go. Plans can always be changed. |

We always go in September, various dates in September depending on the best deal! We have been in a hurricane once (2008), and we were kept in our hotel room for 2 days. Would not put me off at all! It's worth remembering hurricane season lasts from June to November!

That's true, but you can present facts in a reasonable manner, or you can present them so they can be easily misinterpreted. I appreciate that's not your graph, and its true that there is more chance of a hurricane in September, but I think the graph is misleading in suggesting there is a 40% chance of being affected by a hurricane if you take a September holiday in Disney World.

We have been in September when we have had times we have taken our shoes off to wade through the rain! We have also been in September when even the locals were struggling with the heat & humidity!
Yet we still always book for September. Pays your money n takes your chance, same as any holiday.
