I made contact with VH today (on WhatsApp) as our holiday is now due to start in less than 72 hours. I already filled out the form we were e-mailed asking for a refund. As I paid via gift card, Virgin are trying to say I cannot have a refund as they are non-refundable. This is a lie. Gift cards and vouchers are non-refundable. An ABTA and ATOL protected holiday IS refundable however. I've been really stressed this evening worrying about this but I'm going to put my foot down. We have personal reasons why we don't want to take the holiday at another time - we have every right to get our money back Any advice?

Sorry, have only just seen this. We just phoned our local store's phone number (Norwich 03445572034), but presume it doesn't matter which one you phone) and we booked online, but I'd seen someone else suggest trying it. Hope you get through to someone soon.

I have a cancelled car hire with VH from 14th March when US announced ban for foreign nationals from midnight 16th (4am GMT on 17th). Was due to fly VA on 17th.
VH said refund would be processed within 40 days. We have now passed that deadline and still nothing refunded. So, if they are dealing in order that cancellations occurred some of you may have a very long wait still. My view is they will sit on refunding unless you can get through and kick up a stink. And even then may not be successful. We are a cheap loan system for them to tap in to. They also know that most people will just do nothing for a very long time or never at all, so will issue a credit note. This situation will not change unless there is official (government) intervention. But currently they have more important issues on their mind. At the end of the day the s.75 Route is likely to be the best option for those of us who paid on CC. And if there are enough going this route then the CC issuers will likely put their own pressure on as they will not want to be inundated with refunds and the hassle of them recovering from the supplier when currently they may not have any incoming funds to cover the outgoings. Good luck everyone. Edited at 09:36 AM. |
