Broadband compensation
Hi
Has anyone been paid compensation for no internet connection. I've had 2 openreach engineers out in a week and it's still not working fully.

Not compensation but whenever Virgin goes down or we have a problem they don’t charge for the day and take it off the next bill. Without fail I phone and report any outage and ask for the day to be taken off. I’ve never had more than a day or two with problems.

Hi,
Who is your broadband provider, some are easier than others to get compensation. Have they said what the problem is? A week is a long time for it to be offline and having issues, even for BT Openreach |

No idea what is wrong, had 2 new master sockets and a new external line.

Wouldn’t normally get compensation but you would not pay for the days you are down. This cannot be claimed until the issue is fixed. Ie if you pay £30pm for your line and broadband and it’s down for two weeks they would remove £15 from the bill

Had the full rebate for days lost then half price for a year as compensation. But this was after 6 weeks of no internet after OpenReach ripped our EE line by accident when intending to move someone else (3 miles away) between providers (onto BT). So there account was on our line but we kept being told by BT we couldn’t cancel and reverse it to as it wasn’t ours to cancel! Much longer story, but half price for a year was the outcome

We had a lot of compensation from Vodafone a few years back I didn’t stop until they admitted their faults.
Had two problems but it was down to errors their staff had made when selling the package and when we moved so not just an everyday outage. |

We got £300 for 7 months with no internet (Sky) We had 13 engineers until it was finally fixed, although it’s still a little hit and miss sometimes. We also had a few months half price broadband.

Had 3 months of problems when we switched to Sky Q and their Fibre Broadband.
Got half price indefinitely as long as we continued with Sky Sports!

The new regulations is for £8 per day if not fully fixed so I will be asking them how this will be paid to me when I next speak to them
