Has anyone used the Starling debit card? is this a better than prepaid cards?

normally use the fairfx card and then take out cash at the atm and spending
heard about the starling card, has anyone used it, is it a better way to take and use money than a pre paid?
thanks

We used the Starling card for the 1st time last year.
No issues at all, no fees from them and we use Wawa and Regions Bank who are fee free also.
A small amount of interest is also paid on money you have on your card as well.
We still have our fairfx card but Starling will definitely be our main card now.

It also notifies you on your phone straight away of any transactions and you can lock the card in the app whenever you want, especially handy if you think you’ve lost it, but may have just misplaced it so don’t want to cancel... I do that more than I’d care to admit 😂
Great card and bank though, can’t recommend it enough.

Great card & because we have had our since 2016, we are able to top up from our phone direct from our debit card instantly.

We just set one up for my dad for our trip in July & that function has been dropped for new sign ups (still available to us). It wasn't a deal breaker for us, he can still transfer money over from his online banking, just not as straight forward.

No fees at all

Big fan of Fairfx, but must admit I'm sold on Starling used it is Majorca in May the instance notification of spending and exchange rate used is very reassuring and the blocking of the card features on certain platforms i.e. online or turn of completely puts you mind at ease.

The best with the currency cards is you can lock into exchange rates, bought my dollars right at the beginning of the year and can't get those rates now.

I will be using both these methods in Aug/Sept.

Absolutely love my Starling account! Have used it in Cyprus and Spain. I also use it to pay for things in advance that require payment in dollars - Universal photo connect, etc. I then get the MasterCard exchange rate and don't get charged a currency conversion fee if I'd paid via my bank.
