Mobile Where do you go on holiday that isn’t Florida but has a similar feel to it...

Year off this year, we’ve been nearly every year for about the last 15 years. We have literally no idea where to go. I mean let’s be honest, nowhere compares... but does anywhere come close?!?

We have two restless boys 7 and 4 who have never been anywhere else so when we say ‘holiday’ that’s where they assume we’re going! Can anyone suggest anywhere that is good for that age group, plenty to do, maybe a decent theme park to go to...

I was talking to a friend today who suggested Dubai as a good alternative

Port aventura in Spain is lovely.

Really great park, good rides, clean and well kept and the resort hotels are good too.

Just outside Barcelona so not a long or expensive flight too

There is also a place in Germany that someone told me about before that is apparently great too. Can’t recall the name but I recall it being odd.

Was just going to say Dubai too, but not in summer, it’s too hot.
Look at Dubai Parks and Resorts Lapita hotel which gets you entry to Legoland, Legoland water park, motiongate which is very like Universal studios, and Bollywood park.
Or stay in Dubai “proper” and there are couple of water parks Atlantis and Wild Wadi, global village which is like Epcot world showcase, Burj khalifa and fountains, garden glow, miracle garden.
Loads to do, been twice and still more to do.

Edited after I saw previous post to say we’ve booked Port Aventura for this year too.

Also look at Duinrell in Holland. Staying on site there was fab for a week. Also close to visit Amsterdam, windmills etc.

Edited at 09:01 PM.

Europa Park in Germany is wonderful, has lots of similarities to the Florida parks, we really loved it there

We went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee last year and our boys, 8 & 11 at the time loved it. Plenty of nature things to do outdoors and Dollywood just down the road. Hoping to go back next year.

We’ve been to a few of the places mentioned here. Port adventura in Spain but years ago. Good for a beach and theme park break. Camped at Duinrell about 5 years ago. Can also rent chalets etc. Would 100% recommend. Our 13 year old loved it. Theme park and water park on site. Easy to drive to and the town and beach nearby are lovely. Also close to Amsterdam and The Hague ( I think!) We hired bikes and cycled to the big city nearby. Very safe to cycle there. Stayed at Lapita parks and resorts last Oct. also very good, especially for small children. Would imagine it’s very hot in summer though! Hotel gorgeous and parks extremely quiet!

We went to Dubai last summer and loved it, especially the Atlantis water park and the Cheesecake Factory! But as others have said, it was hot!
What about a west coast trip?
